Buying Requirements

Verified CRT members who represent genuine buyers can post commodity purchase requirements on the CRT platform. Requirements are visible to all verified platform participants, enabling offer submission from qualified sellers. This function is in development.

What a buying requirement is

A buying requirement is a structured, verified notice posted by a CRT member who represents a genuine buyer seeking a specific commodity product. It includes: commodity type and specification; quantity range; delivery terms; preferred origin; pricing basis; and timeline.

Requirements are not public advertisements. They are visible only to verified CRT platform participants. Sellers who wish to respond must do so through the platform's controlled offer mechanism.

Who can post buying requirements

Buying requirements can be posted by verified platform participants who represent a genuine buyer. This means:

  • The poster must be a verified CRT member
  • The poster must be acting with genuine authority from the buyer they represent (supported by a Digital Mandate Credential where applicable)
  • The buyer must be a real, identifiable entity — not a placeholder or speculative posting

CRT does not endorse or validate the commercial terms of any posted requirement. CRT moderates for conduct and compliance with platform rules, not for commercial viability.

The posting process

  1. 1

    Verify platform access

Confirm your CRT membership is current and your platform access is active.

  2. 2

    Complete requirement details

Use the structured requirement form. All mandatory fields must be completed. Partial or vague requirements will not be published.

  3. 3

    Mandate confirmation

Confirm your authority to post on behalf of the named buyer. A Digital Mandate Credential (when available) satisfies this automatically.

  4. 4

    Review and publication

CRT reviews the requirement before publication. Requirements that breach platform rules or appear non-genuine will be rejected.

  5. 5

    Manage responses

Sellers can submit offers through the platform. You manage these through your deal room interface. CRT does not see the content of deal room negotiations.

Limitations and safeguards

Important limitations

  • CRT does not verify the commercial terms, specifications or financial standing of buyers. Platform verification covers identity and CRT membership status only.
  • CRT is not a party to any transaction. All commercial terms are agreed directly between buyer and seller.
  • CRT does not guarantee that any requirement will generate a valid offer from a seller.
  • This function is in development and not yet available.
