Specialist Modules
CRT proposes a suite of specialist learning modules for practitioners who have completed the Foundation Certificate and wish to develop deeper knowledge in specific sectors, functions or risk areas. Specialist modules are proposed; none have been developed yet.
Learning outcomes
Specialist modules will allow Foundation Certificate holders to demonstrate focused competence in areas of particular relevance to their role. Each module will have defined learning outcomes; generic outcomes include:
- Advanced sector-specific market knowledge beyond Foundation level
- Practical application of risk management tools to sector-specific scenarios
- Familiarity with sector-specific documentation, pricing and contract structures
- Awareness of sector-specific regulatory and compliance considerations

The following module topics are proposed based on anticipated member needs. Content has not been developed. Final module list will be confirmed following member and faculty consultation.

- Energy Trading Compliance — Crude oil and refined products; LNG and natural gas; sector-specific regulatory and sanctions considerations
- Agricultural Commodity Trade — Principal soft and agricultural markets; GAFTA/FOSFA contracts; quality, grading and inspection standards
- Metals and Mining Trade — LME-related markets; concentrate and refined metal trade; mine-to-market documentation
- Trade Finance Documentation — Advanced letter of credit practice; documentary fraud prevention; structured finance instruments
- Sanctions and Compliance in Commodity Trade — Advanced sanctions screening; facilitation risk; navigating complex jurisdiction overlaps
- Counterparty Risk and Due Diligence — Advanced counterparty assessment; beneficial ownership analysis; red flag management
Entry requirements and terms
Specialist modules will require the Foundation Certificate as a prerequisite. Eligibility criteria for specific modules may be defined once the modules are developed.
