Chambers of Commerce

Chambers of commerce play a vital role in facilitating trade relationships and providing a trusted environment for business introductions. CRT's professional standards are designed to complement chamber membership, not compete with it.

Engagement invited Updated June 2026

What CRT offers this group

Chambers of commerce bring buyers and sellers together, facilitate market access, and provide platforms for business networking. In commodity trade, chambers often facilitate introductions that lead to significant transactions — and they are therefore exposed to reputational risk if the parties they connect prove to be fraudulent or professionally inadequate.

CRT's verification framework gives chambers a reference point: a trader who holds a Trade Integrity Passport has been independently verified through a professional body, not just self-certified. Chambers may choose to reference CRT credentials in their own member vetting processes, or to encourage their commodity-trading members to pursue CRT membership and certification.

Programme model

Proposed engagement routes for chambers of commerce:

  • Member awareness: Informing chamber members engaged in commodity trade about CRT and the benefits of professional membership and certification
  • Credential cross-referencing: Choosing to reference CRT credential status in chamber member directories or introductory materials
  • Joint events: Collaborating on educational events covering professional standards, risk management and fraud prevention in commodity trade
  • Consultation participation: Engaging in CRT consultations on proposed standards to represent the interests of chamber members

We welcome discussions with chambers about how CRT can support your members engaged in commodity trade.
