Market Data
CRT proposes to provide members with access to indicative market data and price reference information for the principal commodity sectors. Live data feeds are proposed; this page describes the approach. No live data is currently available.
Market data approach
CRT's market data function is designed to provide context and reference, not to substitute for professional price reporting services such as Platts, Argus, OPIS, or LME. The purpose is to give members a shared frame of reference — particularly useful for risk alerts and country profiles where price context is relevant.
CRT does not intend to compete with professional price reporting agencies. Our data will be clearly labelled as indicative, sourced from public or licensed reference feeds, and carry appropriate disclaimers.
Proposed data sources
CRT intends to display indicative market data sourced from:
- Publicly available exchange data (LME, CME, ICE — delayed where required by exchange terms)
- Licensed reference data from price reporting agencies (subject to commercial agreements)
- Government-published price references for specific commodity programmes
The specific sources will depend on commercial licensing terms available to CRT. These are not yet confirmed.
Data limitations
Market data — important limitations
- CRT market data will be indicative only. It is not suitable for use as a pricing basis in commodity transactions.
- Data may be delayed. Real-time data requires professional subscriptions to the relevant price reporting agencies.
- CRT does not produce or verify price assessments. We display data from third-party sources.
- No data is currently available. This is a proposed function.
Current status
Market data — proposed, not yet live
No market data is currently available through CRT. Data feed integration is planned for a later phase of development, subject to commercial licensing agreements.
